Divan Beds
Available in a range of sizes, the divan bed is a popular choice for many homes thanks to its adaptability. The base is no larger than the mattress, meaning that it takes up less space in the bedroom than other styles, and with a huge choice of colours and materials it is possible to source a divan that blends seamlessly with your bedroom style and decor. Divan bases can be sprung, which gives additional comfort and support and even extends the life of your mattress. Alternatively, the base can be a solid platform and can be fitted with storage drawers, or an ottoman base making the divan bed ideal where space is at a premium. The recent evolution of the divan bed has led to new designs and new fabrics, including chenille and suede. Matching headboards create a coordinated look, and even the feet can often be customised, helping to bring a real touch of luxury to your bedroom. Choose from no storage to two or four drawers, or you could even choose an ottoman divan, which lifts up to allow for storage underneath the mattress. Choose the most appropriate mattress for your sleeping requirements. Whether you prefer to sink into softness or favour a firm mattress, the options for your new divan are almost endless.
Bedsteads
The frame of a bedstead is fitted with slats, which can be customised to provide the appropriate level of support for your mattress. The bedstead comes with a built-in headboard and can be fitted with the mattress of your choice. Because a bedstead has no fitted storage options, this type of bed frame is suited to larger rooms or rooms where storage is not an issue. But if you have a small bedroom and you but a bedstead in, illusion of space underneath, can make a smaller room look bigger.
Storage Beds
Beds designed to incorporate storage help to maximise the space in your bedroom and are ideal for hiding unwanted clutter and storing out-of-season clothes or even spare bedding. Ottoman storage beds provide a large area in which to store items. Heavier than a bedstead, storage beds are perfect for small bedrooms and guest rooms or any bedroom lacking in traditional storage, but their weight can make them difficult to move around.
